August 13 - 17 Lavender Festival, Toronto Ontario The Vintage Gardener, a beautiful store in the Distillery District in Toronto, is hosting for the first time in this location, a Lavender Festival, August 13-17. There will be workshops showing you how to make simple lavender wreaths and decorative designs featuring lavender, plus lavender plants for sale and me! Bring your lavender questions for me They have plenty of my books now in stock and I'll be there autographing books and answering your lavender growing questions. At this point, August 2nd, the plan is for me to be there every day from noon to around 3pm, but I will know the times better as we get closer to August 13th. The Vintage Gardener is located at 55 Mill Street in the Historic Distillery District just east of Parliament Street, north of Lakeshore Avenue. There is parking on the streets in the area and a parking lot just south of the buildings. You do have to pay for parking. The store website is: www.vintagegardener.com
2008 North American Lavender Conference October 18 - 20, Sequim, Washington State For more information, visit the website: http://www.lavendergrowers.org/upcoming.html I went to this conference 2 years ago when it was held with the Lavender Festival and found it very informative.
June 21, 22, 23 Ohio Lavender Festival, Streetsboro, OH The 2008 Ohio Lavender Festival will be held at DayBreak Lavender Farm, a family-owned lavender and herb farm in Streetsboro, Ohio, located between Cleveland and Akron, just minutes away from Cuyahoga Valley National Park. These folks make lovely soaps and lotions with are for sale during the festival. Talks and demonstrations happen all day and all included with your admission. There are also some extra classes for very reasonable fees. In 2207, I took a watercolor class and a photography class. They were only $5 - $10 and I learned so much. http://ohiolavenderfestival.com/
